Graduate School of Tokyo Zokei University
Graduate School of Tokyo Zokei University was founded in April 2005 based on tradition and achievements of the university's proprietary and unique education and studies. The graduate school sets targets on development of human resources with outstanding specialty capabilities and the potentiality to pursue up-to-date themes. The school also targets those who aim to seek higher education at a graduate school of distinctive characteristics based on continuous presentations and assessments of production and studies. The graduate school also incorporates advanced education courses that continue to bring the university education to a higher level.
Structure of Graduate School
Department of Design and Fine Arts, Master's Course in Design and Fine Arts
Design Course
Aims to foster Zokei specialists and educational instructors with the creative ability to flexibly respond to today's social themes by providing them with rich creative power, perceptive insights and practical skills under our up-to-date educational and study systems.
Fine Arts Course
Aims to foster artists and educational instructors with an awareness of up-todate themes through the latest educations/studies to recapture artistic pursuits involving social themes, while focusing on advanced exploration of production studies involving artistic expressions.

Educational Structure The curriculum consists of the following three courses
1. Theories of design and fine arts
A course for theoretical / systematic research of trends and themes involving Zokei. The course covers a wide range of topics from the basics to applications of Zokei including consideration of today's concept of Zokei, historical verification and specialized training in teaching. In addition to lectures, classes provide discussions and debates to cultivate potentiality of multifaceted study .
2. Projects of design and fine arts
A course to produce form concepts and ideas based on discovery of themes though diverse verification processes of modern themes. The course is founded upon the three basic themes of "Cities and the Environment", "Industry and Development" and "People and Zokei". Includes practical study by collaboration with off-campus entities such as international interchange and cooperation with industry. Classes consist of field works and case studies and demonstrative research in the form of workshops, etc.
3. Special studies in design and fine arts
A course to provide guidance for students'study themes. Consists of two courses: a production/study course to polish skills and deepen expertise in specialized themes and a comprehensive study course that integrates his/her fruit in a master's course in production and theses. The class consists primarily of individual guidance in stages amidst a close relationship between student and instructor.
