Me in Japan
‘What will happen when putting me in a totally different culture?’
Anything that happens, I thought would be interesting as my photography, in the end is always self-reflective. My goal in this was to find in all differences some human basics that match mine.
My starting point in a series of portraits was a feeling I had, longing not to feel anymore; I learned about Buddhism and found resemblances and used this in my approach.
In the future I hope to come back to Japan to deepen my interests and create more.
I fell in love with Japanese culture.
And I love Mishima..
I really want to thank everybody who was so nice to me. (Everybody was).
And of course Yoneyama san for his special guidance!
I am very proud I can say Shiroaka Jun san was my sensei at Zokei!
