Report about the exchange programme in Tokyo Zokei University

It has been 3 months since I came to the Tokyo Zokei University and almost the time for me to say goodbye to my fellow schoolmates, teachers and this country. My first impression about Tokyo is their advanced technology and politeness of its residents. Although this is my fourth visit to this city, yet I still find it very interesting to explore and try different kinds of new stuff here.

The Tokyo Zokei University is an entirely different environment for me to study because I found that the teaching system is very much on practical based. In England where I study Graphic Arts, we concern the importance of conceptual thinking more than the practical side whilst the teachings here are more likely to be the opposite side. Moreover, it has been a great experience for me to attend different courses (Silkscreen, Cooperate identity and Picture book) apart from Graphic design because it was a bit difficult for me to acquire such techniques from my university in England. The Zokei University has given me the chance to spend my time on study of the specific techniques that I always wanted to learn. These techniques will undoubtedly assist me in my further studies on Graphic Arts.

On the other hand, the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staffs and students in Zokei University has made me adapted to the environment quickly. Despite the fact that I never formally learned the Japanese language, yet I still manage to communicate well with my friends here and sometimes I can even learn the language through daily experiences. In addition, I have also taken part in the badminton team here, which broadened my friendship in the university whilst doing the sport that I like.

I would like to say thank you to all the people I met in Zokei and it is my pleasure to spend my time with you all. I will definitely recommend the students from my university to join the exchange programme of the Zokei University as it is an invaluable experience.
